Bacon Wrapped Stuffing Appetizer – Mealtime Monday
No matter who you are celebrating with this Thanksgiving, give them something else to be thankful for with this Bacon Wrapped Stuffing appetizer!
Bacon Wrapped Stuffing
- 1 Box of Stuffing, prepared according to package directions
- ½ pound sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 12 strips of bacon
Cranberry Sauce
- 1 can of whole berry cranberry sauce
- 4 tbsp orange juice
- Pinch of Salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 375.
Preheat skillet to medium heat. Partially cook cut strips of bacon, about 2 minutes on each side. *Grubwife Tip: Partially cooking the bacon ensures that it will cook all the way through without burning the stuffing. Remove bacon from the pan and place on a paper towel line plate to allow some of the fat to drain off. In a mixing bowl, combine prepared stuffing and cooked sausage. Once combined, take a small ice cream scoop and begin to make small stuffing balls, place on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Once all of the balls have been formed, wrap a single piece of the partially cooked bacon around each ball securing with a toothpick. Place into preheated oven for 28-30 minutes.

While the stuffing is in the oven, in a medium size saucepan, combine can of cranberry sauce, orange juice and salt. Turn heat on to medium low. Allow to simmer gently while stirring frequently. Simmer for about 8 minutes then remove from heat. Allow to cool slightly before placing in serving dish.
When the bacon wrapped stuffing is finished cooking in the oven, remove the toothpicks used for securing bacon and place on platter for serving. Enjoy!

Yum!!!
I’m gonna start forwarding some of these recipes to my wife. I see a lot of things I want to try here. Better yet, maybe I should cook some of them for her.
